When you get a chance to go up north towards Whitehorse Yukon, the best way to end a cold winter’s day is to soak your exhausted frozen bodies in the hot springs – Takhini Hot Springs. The view was amazing and this particular hot spring we visited was very near the Yukon wildlife reserve, where there are amazing winter creatures to seek out.

Dog sledding is probably one of the most fun things I have ever experienced in my life, and it takes great skill and control too. I had 4 amazing doggies with different personalities and it takes a lot of focus and maneuvering of the sled to make sure they don’t fly off with my sled at top speed.

5. Climbing Grouse Mountain in Vancouver to find the bears

Climbing Grouse Mountain at Vancouver

Grouse mountain is one of the most popular mountains near Vancouver that has runners racing up it daily. Depending on your stamina, you can choose to hike up via 2 different routes, or take the cable car up to the top.

My amazing Belgium friend convinced me to take the steeper hike with her. Given I am not exactly out of shape, I agreed as I didnt think much how difficult could it be.

10 minutes into the hike. I was dying. It was such a steep hike with high steps up to your knee all the way. And to make matters worse, I was in the wrong attire.

We started off at the base at 15 degrees, but by the time we got to the top, we were surrounded by snow and my body was confused between conserving heat or releasing it, as I was both sweating and shivering at the same time. BUT, the view up there was amazing and we followed the BEAR PAWS on the gravel ground to go towards the bear enclosure where he was hibernating.

We were blessed with having an amazing lodge to stay at in when in Banff. It was a really lovely cabin and they gave us their best room. It had a balcony with a view of the rocky mountains. Utterly stunning and I couldn’t stop staring out of the window to enjoy the view.

Hence this sums up the list of Canada winter outdoor adventures to do this December and all the way till end of winter.
