Made with a women’s specific fit, the Vapor V is guaranteed to feel more like an extension of your foot and less like a clunky approach shoe on the wall. A moderate downturn keeps these shoes comfortable while still offering the technical fit you want for steep routes and boulders. Vibram XS Grip 2 rubber is stiff enough to provide support while still being soft enough to flex for better surface area on minuscule footholds. And just in case you need to engage in some trickery, SCARPA added a super-soft M70 rubber toe patch and heel cup for precise heel and toe hooks.

I think since the materials, the shape, and the style are so different this shouldn't be called the Vapor anymore; it's a completely different shoe. I had to size up a half size, no biggie except that now the hole in my old vapors may be beyond repair by the time I get the right size. To their credit, I think this new design will be more comfortable out of the box.

The shoes are great, but it takes time to get used to them. And the size is definitely smaller than I expected. When they arrived, I couldn't even put them on; after several attempts, my feet were there. I still can't quite use them for more than one route at a time at the climbing wall (too painful). But. I wanted a pair of aggressive shoes (after Five Ten Siren) -- so I kind of expected this. One month of pain - and now I can definitely say that I LOVE these shoes.

Came in the mail and was all squished up. The box had been sitting outside in the rain and I didn’t know the inside got all wet. These were supposed to be a gift for my sister so I hadn’t gotten around to opening them and they’re so squished I can’t get my hand in. I can’t return them now and I can’t give them as a gift. I can’t imagine anyone will want them- they’re useless. Don’t know if they were manufactured like that or if they sat too long in a wet box. Disappointed and frustrated because I thought she would love the colors.
