I wasn’t expecting this…Portugal has amazing food.
It was the tail end of my 27 days road trip in Europe, with Lisbon as the last pit stop. I was excited to see the country and eat the egg tarts, but as for the cuisine, I was not expecting much difference to the rest of Europe, where I was having plenty of cheese and bread in my diet when traveling from Switzerland to France to Spain.
So when I had my first meal here in an authentic Portuguese cafe/ restaurant, and ordered a local recommended dish since it sounded quite decent, didn’t expect to be completely taken away by the taste..the amazing taste.
So introducing the Best Seafood in Lisbon – 1st dish in Portugal every soup + rice + seafood lover should try…
1. Shellfish Rice ( Dope! )

This was my all time favourite, that I went hunting for it on my last day before I depart Portugal for home ( Singapore). Unfortunately we didn’t go back to the same restaurant, which I shall deem the best best seafood restaurant in Lisbon!

Other lovely seafood dishes/ best seafood restaurants in Lisbon
2. Portugal Grilled Octopus with Lemon ( YUM! )

A really tasty dish when the grilled Octopus is done nicely, crispy at the edges ( tentacles) but juicy and bouncy in the middle. I had some really nice hot sauce to go with it.
3. Lemon and Butter Clams

Love good grilled food? Explore the cuisine of Korea!
4. Grilled Fish

5. Mussels with Olive Oil and Simple Garnishing

The Sweets for those who need it
6. Yummy Hot Chocolate in Portugal

The rich creamy taste of the hot chocolate in Portugal paired with this crispy almond and chocolate tart was really heavenly!
Last but not least, who can forget the unforgettable…
7. Portuguese Eggtarts or known as ‘pastel de nata’

Absolutely amazing snack for any time of the day..the egg tarts, also known as the ‘pastel de nata’, are unavoidable, with shops everywhere. Cez had way too many for his own good.

Hence conclude my love affair with all the amazing succulent sweets and seafood in Lisbon City. I discovered so much amazing food here in Portugal that I would love to try to cook when I go back home ( Singapore ).
