Ultimate List of Top 42 Bouldering Singapore Gyms [UPDATED 2024] Climbing Prices

Top 42 Bouldering Gyms in Singapore

The rock climbing and bouldering scene has hit Singapore with a storm.

Who would have thought just 10 plus years ago when I picked up this pastime, it was still a rather non-conventional sport in Singapore? It had more restrictions and higher barriers of entry ( most rock climbers seen bouldering in Singapore are teenagers or students who started and picked it up from school days)

Bouldering Singapore Gyms for every climber and boulderer Singaporean

However, over time, with greater publicity and awareness about rock climbing and bouldering since the Olympics, it started attracting more working adults, Singaporeans and parents with their kids into the scene, looking for a fun and alternative form of workout beyond the gym/ fitness classes available in the market. Bouldering and climbing gyms in Singapore are getting fancier over time with some of them having incredible facilities like air filters, co-working space options or even cross-fit and yoga classes if you need a bit of a variety.

One of the pioneer gyms for bouldering in Singapore, this was one of the 1st gyms I started to do bouldering, and I really like their 2nd-floor design of the gym, like a 2-storey maze and playground. Come here if you want a mix between some top rope/ lead climbing and also bouldering.

They are one of the gyms that have a massive outdoor lead climbing wall, so if you are not into bouldering that day, that is always an option!

Last but not least would be SAFRA Yishun Gym. A tard further to get to given it is situated in the far north, this outdoor rock climbing spot actually also have a really fun bouldering ‘maze’ playground in the centre of its top-rope structure. You can literally boulder your way up 3 storeys if you want to. I would recommend boulderers to visit this top boulder gym once if you want to have a bit more fun than an intense workout.

As I am really a fan of outdoor climbing, just outside this bouldering gym is the immense rock climbing outdoor wall, 1 building for top rope and the other a few metres away for lead climbing. You can prepare for some unpredictable weather here in Yishun ( very hot or rainy), so don’t forget your sunblock, sunhats or umbrellas/ ponchos for your gear.

13. Get Fit at FitBloc

Located in Science Park, this bouldering gym located in the west makes it perfect for westies who find it a challenge to travel to the majority of gyms in the East.

This Boulders Gym in Singapore has special facilities linked to their building like a nice lap pool and co-working space. This is cool for a digital nomad like me who works off my laptop yet wants to squeeze in some climbing. Not many climbing gyms can proudly say they have a co-working space in the same premise.

Fit Bloc Boulders Gym | 87 Science Park Dr, #03-02 The Oasis, Singapore 118260

14. UpWall Climbing

Remember the old Ferris wheel over in Downtown East?
Well, that is long gone and the pretty space by the glass front of the mall is now taken over by the new climbing gym called Upwall.

16 top rope lanes with 10 auto-belay routes and 8 lead climbing lanes for the more advanced level climbers. Bouldering can be done shared with the lead climbing lanes, with a thick crash pad set up below it.
Opened during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, this air condition-carpeted gym is really cosy and comfortable without the crazy crowds like some of the other more popular climbing and bouldering gyms located more centrally, where you need to camp on their online pages to secure a slot.

Air conditioned kids friendly gym | UpWall Rock Climbing Gym and Downtown East
Air-conditioned kids-friendly rock climbing gym

We managed to visit this climbing gym in the Far East with a few last-minute walk-ins by our extended family who decided to join. The space is quite friendly for younger kids and toddlers too. There are nice soft white-lining seats against the wall the kids can chill there while their parents climb.
Some downsides though, the gym caters a bit more to top ropers as compared to boulderers, so there isn’t a designated area for you to boulder and do exciting overhangs. Also, prepare for a bit of a nosy crowd of families and kids watching you if you climb on the part that is against the railings of the mall.

UpWall Climbing Gym | 1 Pasir Ris Close, E!Hub@Downtown East, #01-105, 519599
Single Entry Price: $20
Monthly Pass: $80

15. BFF Climb

I found out about BFF over dinner with a boulderer recently, and I was amazed that they already had 2 outlets despite only opening in 2021.

One cool thing about BFF is that beside the Boulder Zone, there is the Play zone which is the fun element of it. Kids of all ages can come over and get enthralled by all the little obstacle courses, AR Wall, foam pit and maze. If I were much younger, this would have been something that would strongly appeal to a toddler or kid in us. Another programme they offer is Camps, which sounds heaps of fun. Too bad it probably does not involve sleeping overnight on a portaledge on the wall.

So do swing by and check them out, there are 2 outlets in Singapore depending if you are more of an eastie or westie.

BFF Bendemeer | CT Hub, 2 Kallang Avenue , #01-20 Singapore 339407

16. Boulder Planet

For the north folks, finally here comes a gym that is situated near you. Boulder Planet is located at Sembawang shopping centre and has a fancy edgy space which is a mix of bouldering and social space.

I love that they are all about sustainability and they even have a policy of not advocating and distributing single-use plastic on their premise. FINALLY, a gym that takes this seriously. We have yet to visit them yet but I do hope they also have recycling bins and they do encourage their users to do proper sorting. Singapore needs to buck up in terms of implementing more initiatives to make a more sustainable lifestyle.

So pardon the distraction, do check them out at Sembawang Shopping Centre at Basement 1. If you aren’t much of a Westie, good news, they have a new outlet at Tai Seng that is newer and fresher!

21. Climb@T3 Changi Airport

I have got to say this one completely caught me by surprise. But these days, it’s no surprise that every establishment would want to get one foot into the most trendy shopping area in Singapore, our very own Airport. But yes, it’s a very quick walk after your bouldering workout before you can find yourself gazing at our magnificent world’s tallest man-made waterfall. Gorilla Climbing Gym - Brand new spanking whitewash walls
Gorilla Climbing Gym – Brand new spanking whitewash walls

Love the name of this gym, definitely lives up to the ‘ape’ like behaviour of us boulderers swinging around on the walls.

Gorilla Climbing Gym had its official opening in the month of Aug 2017 and are welcoming easties and all families and friends to visit its spanking new premise in Chai Chee. One thing I really like about the gym is, it is all white and air-conditioned! Located right next to the flagship Decathlon outlet, it is slowly converting itself into a one-stop adventure hub to climb and shop all in 1 trip.

One more bonus: It has a climbing shop as well if you are looking for great climbing gifts for your boulderers friends, alternatively one can also invest on your first set of climbing gear buying it online on Amazon.

Competitive level standards? This gym has always been regarded as one of the top boulder gyms with the toughest routes. You can see some crazy action going on here with some flying ‘monkey’ boulderers occasionally. And just next door would be some flying monkeys jumping on trampolines and ropes. Really quite a sight at onsight.

Till this day, this is one of my favourite gyms to climb at, not just because my friends love to climb here, its located near the circle line, but the fact that there is super delicious food at the nearby old airport road food court! The thought of prawn noodles and char kway teow is making me hungry already!

There is now a boulder gym within 10 minutes walk from my house! For northeasterners who stay in Serangoon, Lorong Chuan, Kovan, Hougang, Sengkang etc, this will be THE GYM to visit. The Promenade @ Pelikat is a small little mall that just opened, and I really hope to visit this gym soon.

Its a cycling distance from Kovan mrt or Serangoon NEX mall. The area is very peaceful as it is situated in the middle of the private housing and residential public parks.
